Mahafrin joined Turner Hopkins in October 2017 as an Immigration Lawyer. She completed her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Waikato in 2012 and after working for large organisations like ACC and ANZ for a few years, Mahafrin decided it was time to enter the legal profession and has not looked back.
Her experience includes dealing with complex immigration matters from character and medical waivers to representing clients at the Immigration Protection Tribunal and at Humanitarian Interviews. Mahafrin has acted for offshore clients and onshore clients from various parts of the world (China, the Philippines and India to name a few), advising them at all stages of their immigration journey.
Coming from a migrant background, Mahafrin understands the challenges that migrants face when accessing legal services, which is why she believes in transcending beyond cultural and language barriers to provide effective service and pragmatic, tailored legal advice to her clients.
If you wish to visit the gorgeous South Island, or study at one of the best management schools in the Southern Hemisphere, work with some amazing start-ups or even just bring your family over to live in Aotearoa and make yearly family trips to places like Great Barrier Island - talk to Mahafrin.
