COVID-19 Shared Parenting Update
The latest order made by the Director-General of Health includes a reference to shared care arrangements. Separated parents operating under a shared care arrangement during the Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown period should be aware of the following:
- A child can leave the household of one parent to visit or stay at the household of the other parent if there is a “shared bubble” arrangement
- Each “shared bubble” should include two households only. There should ideally not be more than two households coming into contact with each other
- All adults residing in both households should consent to the shared care arrangement
- The households should be in the same or neighbouring Health Board Districts
There is also further guidance on how to deal with shared parenting during Covid-19 on the Ministry of Justice’s website here.
