Demand For Residence By Investor Category Drives Up Investment Requirement

Published: Tue, Nov 17th, 2015

Demand for New Zealand residence in this category has been escalating. The category has become oversubscribed.  There is no plan for the New Zealand Government to increase the number of residence visas issued under this category from the existing limit of 300. The downstream impact is that mature applicants in the 50 year plus age bracket will need to consider investing well in excess of $3 million to be invited by the New Zealand Government to make an application for residence or permanent residence.

Processing times and current workloads indicate about 2 years of work within Business Migration Branch of Immigration New Zealand.

With an 11 month wait for the visa application to be assessed by an immigration officer people need to plan carefully – a reduction in the value of their investment funds during this long wait could be disastrous for your permanent residence application.

“John is very easy to talk to, he never makes you feel dumb, and never makes you feel like you are wasting his time for asking questions. He explains everything very clearly, every time.
