China Collaboration

Zhongwen Law

Turner Hopkins is proud to announce the establishment of a new collaboration office in Shenzhen, China, in partnership with Beijing Zhongwen Law Firm - one of China’s most respected and nationwide legal practices, with over 2,000 lawyers and offices in 27 cities across China and abroad.

The new Shenzhen office, officially launched in June 2025, marks a major step forward in Turner Hopkins’ commitment to providing seamless cross-border legal services. It reflects the firm’s growing involvement in China–New Zealand legal matters, particularly in areas such as investment, immigration, commercial law, and the recognition and enforcement of Chinese court decisions in New Zealand. The office is located on Level 9 and10, Tower C, Kaifa Plaza, 7006 Caitian Road, Futian District, Shenzhen, China.

This partnership builds on years of successful cooperation between Turner Hopkins and Zhongwen. Together, the firms aim to support Chinese and New Zealand clients with trusted legal expertise and practical solutions for doing business across both jurisdictions. The collaboration is especially valuable for clients in the banking, finance, tech, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

The launch event in Shenzhen was attended by legal professionals, diplomats, and industry leaders from both countries. Speakers highlighted the importance of cross-border legal services in today’s global economy and expressed strong support for deeper cooperation between the firms.

Turner Hopkins brings to the partnership one of New Zealand’s largest Mandarin-speaking legal teams, led by Principal Joy Yuan and supported by Special Counsel Jerry Yu, who holds legal qualifications and practices in both China and New Zealand. The team is well-positioned to assist clients with company establishment, M&A, commercial projects, and migration pathways to New Zealand.

This collaboration office enhances Turner Hopkins’ ability to deliver high-quality, culturally informed legal services and represents a significant milestone in our international growth strategy. It also aligns with our commitment to fostering strong commercial and legal relationships between China and New Zealand.

We welcome enquiries from clients, businesses, and professionals looking to explore opportunities or navigate complex legal matters in either jurisdiction.
