About Janice Hilton

Janice is a Registered Legal Executive and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives.  She has been employed in the legal profession in both New Zealand and Australia for about 18 years.  On arriving in New Zealand, she began studying part-time for her Legal Executive Certificate while working for a sole practitioner.

Janice’s legal experience in New Zealand spans most areas of law - but more particularly property law. In 2010 she moved to Australia where she gained further property experience with a global law firm before joining the retirement village legal team of a large diversified property company.

As part of the Commercial/Residential Property Team at Turner Hopkins, Janice assists clients with various property matters – purchasing, selling and refinancing.  Service and building long term relationships with clients is important to her.  She enjoys going the extra mile to assist clients - providing thorough but practical legal advice - whether it’s to first time home buyers or investors seeking to increase their property portfolios.

Prior to emigrating to New Zealand, she worked in newspaper journalism and public relations in South Africa.  While working, Janice also completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Psychology through the University of South Africa and then began studying part-time for a Law Degree.

Outside of work Janice loves travelling overseas, spending time at the beach, swimming and more recently trying her hand at flying helicopters.  Having been a competitive swimmer and lifesaver for most of her life, she has enjoyed competing when she can in New Zealand and Australian Masters Swimming Competitions. She has competed in the World Masters Games in Auckland and in the Pan Pacific Masters Games in Australia.
